The Department was established in 1953 and services a 234 square mile area including the town of Ave Maria from three stations. The 15 uniformed personnel protect life, property and the environment through their direct involvement in fire prevention, firefighting, emergency medical care, technical rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, disaster response, public education and community service.
